The Third International Conference on Algebraic Biology (AB2008) was held from July 31 to August 2, 2008, in Linz, Austria, which was jointly organized by National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) and Research Institute for Symbolic Computation (RISC), Johannes Kepler University. About 150 persons from 11 countries in total participated in the conference, and the studies about the application of symbolic computation to biology were presented. In particular, Drs. Kiyoshi Asai (Keynote speech), Ken Fukuda (Tutorial talk), and Tohru Natsume (Tutorial Talk) presented their works in the conference.
